Mathura Naresh Kalnemi is unable to get his daughter, Vrunda, married as she was cursed by a yogi. However, Danav-raj, Jahlandar, who was blessed with immortality by Bhagwan Shri Brahmdev, comes forward to marry her. Both live in bliss for sometime, but when Jahlandar's guru reminds him to avenge his grandfather against the Devas, he takes up arms, and with Vrunda's blessings, he first defeats Indradev, and abducts Indrayani. Not satisfied, he then goes into war with Bhagwan Shri Vishnu, forcing the later to retreat. Then he lusts after Devi Maa Parvati, and even forces an enraged Shivji to retreat. Not knowing that Vrunda is responsible for his success, he lets her blind herself and has her imprisoned. She nevertheless continues to pray for him - only to face shame, ridicule and be blamed for being unfaithful.

Rajkumari Vrunda lives in a palatial home with her mom and dad. One day while hunting she is molested by thugs, and Samrat Jalandhar comes to her aid. He rescues her and accompanies her to her parents' home and asks them for her hand in marriage, to which they agree. The marriage takes place with great pomp and ceremony. After the marriage their life is virtually perfect. Then one day, Jalandhar gets a visit from a Sage who tells him that there is war going between the Devas (Gods) and Danavs (Demons), and that Bhagwan Vishnu has been siding with the Devas. Curious to find out more, Jalandhar journeys to his father, Sagar (Ocean), who tells that he had attempted to make peace between the Devas and the Danavs by offering them sweet nectar of life, but Bhagwan Vishnu had taken the shape of a beautiful woman, Mohini, and made sure that only the Devas got the nectar. Jalandhar is angered at this, and declares war against Bhagwan Vishnu and the Devas. Vrunda begs him not to go, as Vishnu ...

Maharaj Ashvapati and his wife, Malvi, are childless. They pray to Devi Maa Gayatri, who appears before them, but tells them to their dismay that they cannot sire a son. She does appease them by blessing them with a daughter. Shortly thereafter a daughter is born and is named Savitri, by none other than Devrishi Narad. When Savitri matures, she receives many proposals for marriage, but decides to wed a poor woodcutter, Satyavan, who saved from being attacked by a tiger, and who lives a poor lifestyle in a Rishi-Ashram along with blind parents, who were once Raja and Maharani, but their kingdom was taken away by deceit by the Raja's brother. Despite objections from her parents, Savitri and Satyavan wed, and Savitri goes to live a simple lifestyle. She undertakes the Akhand Saubhagyawati Vrath, but shortly thereafter Satyavan passes away after being bitten by a snake. Yamraj sends his Dhoots to bring in Satyavan's soul, but they are prevented by Savitri. Yamraj himself undertakes this ...

Vrunda is married to Jalandhar who gets involved in a vicious battle with Lord Vishnu. As a war between gods and demons wages, Vishnu earns Vrunda's wrath after her husband is killed by Shiva.
